Savannah Itinerary Day 1:
Kickstart your three-day adventure in Savannah by taking in the beautiful architecture and greenery all around. Visit Forsyth Park, a stunning green oasis adorned with Spanish moss-draped trees and a picturesque fountain. Hunt for the famous Forest Gump bench at Chippewa Square! Take in the incredibly old architecture and stop in the many art stores around. Support a local artist! It’s the perfect place for it since SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) is everywhere in this city decorating the streets with art and beauty!
For lunch, absolutely stop by Savannah Seafood to get a seafood cone, it’s exactly what it sounds like, seafood in a waffle cone. After you’re full of food, head towards Planet Fun and all the other fun shops on Broughton Street! There are so many funky and odd shops on this road that it’s hard to decide what to do. After some shopping, grab dinner on Broughton at Naan (right next to Savannah Seafood) for some amazing Indian food or if you’re not a fan of Indian, hit up any one of the many restaurants on this street! Asking a local is the easiest way to get some amazing recommendations. Afterwards, wrap up your night with a Ghost tour of Savannah, one of the most haunted cities in America. Walk the streets and learn about the spooky and creepy history of this city!
Savannah Itinerary Day 2:
Day 2 take a leisurely stroll along River Street (it’s a necessity!), lined with charming shops, restaurants, and art galleries. See if you can locate the lock bridge! Many couples stop by to place their lock on the bridge, it’s quite cool! Once you place your lock head down the historic steps down to the official River Street, located (you guessed it!) on the river! This street is where the famous River Street Sweets is located, home of the most delicious candied pecans. SO GOOD! After picking up some candy and chocolate, head to the art gallery to look around. Support the local artists if you can, they’re incredibly talented, and you may even find one of the artists wandering around! After some shopping, be sure to grab lunch at one of the many seafood restaurants, there’s so many to choose from and all so delicious (Tubby’s is a personal favorite).
Grab a drink at Wet Willy’s, a daiquiri bar full of fun and unique flavors! You can walk around with your drink while you shop. I don’t drink alcohol because of the taste but the Pink Flamingo just literally tastes like a smoothie! There are also two markets on this street that always seem to have such interesting stuff. One located on the river and the other also located on the river but further down in a big kind of wooden cabin thing. I would definitely check them both out!
Afterwards, head to the Savannah Bee Company for an amazing experience tasting meads and honey’s! If Caleb is working the bar, tip him well! He’s an awesome artist and super knowledgeable about mead, I learned a lot of fun facts! Wrap up your day of shopping and exploration with dinner at the famous Zunzi’s! This sandwich shop is so incredibly good, also very messy. I highly recommend the Fisherman’s Deck! Don’t forget to get some Byrd’s cookies on the way out! So many flavors and you can try them all!
