What to Eat in West Los Angeles
Los Angeles isn’t just sunshine, palm trees, and movie magic, it’s also a food lover’s paradise. Los Angeles is also HUGE, and has so many incredible areas and restaurants that just can’t possibly be covered in one go. In this guide, we’re diving fork-first into the must-try bites, sweet treats, and underrated favorites you won’t want to miss… in West Los Angeles in particular! Come hungry because LA is ready to feed you, and my mouth is already watering just thinking about these places. Here are my favorites to eat in West LA
Baja Catch
Maaaaaan… if you’re like me, you might have thought fish tacos were just greasy bar food meant for the drunkest of nights. Nope. Baja Catch completely redefines what a fish taco should be. Their Baja fish and shrimp tacos are crispy, flavorful masterpieces that I literally dream about. Bonus points: Taco Tuesdays here are a personal favorite (you know I can’t ignore a discount)
taco Tents
Okay, “taco tents” might not be the official name, but that’s what Allen and I call them, and if you know, you know. You’ll spot them on street corners, glowing under string lights, with sizzling meat and the smell of heaven wafting through the air. No specific address needed, just follow your nose, and I’m sure you’ll wander past these gems!
Natalie’s Peruvian
I don’t even know where to start. This spot serves up some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. The menu is massive, so whether you’re a particular eater like me or you’ve got a bold palate like Allen, there’s something for everyone. The portions are generous and the flavor is out of this world.
Mitsuwa Marketplace
People who say LA is all tacos haven’t been to Mitsuwa. This cozy Japanese marketplace has a killer food court that serves everything from steaming bowls of ramen to perfectly crisp tempura. It’s casual, authentic, and the kind of place you’ll want to visit again (and again).
COFAX
If breakfast burritos are your love language, Cofax is calling your name. These burritos are thick, flavorful, and don’t skimp on the fillings. Every bite is a savory explosion. My only wish? That they offered more variety. But honestly, what they do have is already fire.
Tandoor-A-India
For all my fellow Indian food lovers out there, this place is for you. Tandoor-A-India brings bold, rich flavors with every dish. I highly recommend trying as much of the menu as your spice tolerance will allow. Fair warning: it can get spicy. But that’s just part of the fun.
Rodini Park
Still hungry? You need to try Rodini Park. It’s like the Greek version of Chipotle! Build your own bowl, pita, or salad with toppings that don’t hold back. I’ve had both the brisket and salmon and honestly, I can’t pick a favorite. It’s fast, fresh, and absolutely packed with flavor.
West LA may not be one neighborhood, but it’s a vibe. A vibe filled with sizzling meats, savory sauces, bold spices, and sweet surprises. Whether you’re hitting up a taco tent at midnight or grabbing a cozy ramen bowl on a rainy day, this side of the city has something unforgettable waiting on every corner. So loosen that belt a notch and explore, because there’s so many options when you’re deciding what to eat in LA!
